One of the best doldotbibimbaps!! Their soups are very good too. The banchan could be a little more fresh. And the seafood pancake was a bit too doughy (I prefer them thin and crispy) but overall a great restaurant with clean good service. Highly recommend

Not sure why this place has 4 star rating since there are so many Korean restaurants in South Bay. We visited Da Maat when we visited the Korean dessert place next door, and thought it would be convenient to come eat Soondubu then have the dessert next door. However, after our very first visit, I am confident to say that would be the last time as well. I am always looking for good soondubu (tofu soup) in South Bay since the weather here tends to be bit cooler. We have visited a couple soondubu places in Torrance, and by far Da Maat is the worst one of all the ones I have tried. I ordered my usual clam soondubu, and here are two key reasons why I gave this place 2 stars: 1. the broth: a good soondubu has flavorful broth. You know you have a bowl of yummy broth is when you cannot stop using your metal spoon to dip into your hot hot broth (despite the temperature as well). A good soondubu broth should have a subtle but noticeable taste of dried anchovies and other seafood. But the broth here barely tasted anything other than garlic and chili. 2. the soft tofu: comparing to other awesome soondubu places I have tried in South Bay, the tofu here is probably THE WORST one. Although soondubu uses soft tofu, but the tofu shouldn't come as tofu crumbles in your soondubu. It should still be a bit chunky and have a smooth texture. However, the soondubu here has tofu crumbles and not even one solid chunk of tofu in my soondubu at all. Also, the tofu does not have any flavors, a good soondubu should have tofu with subtle flavors of the broth. But since the broth here is so plain and bland, you can only imagine how "flavorful" the tofu would be. For food, I would give them 1 star, but since the restaurant has nice decorations and the service was prompt, I am lenient to give 2 stars. If you are just visiting South Bay on a gloomy cold day and craving a nice korean soondubu, I will not recommend visiting this place.

Good food. Good quality. Service could use a little more attention.
